Synopsis

They’re armed to the teeth, steadfast and ready to repel the advancing Hun. Or not, as the case may be….. …. the Walmington-on-Sea Home Guard platoon led by the intrepid patriot Captain Mainwaring, along with the “stupid boy” Pike, “Don’t panic!” Jones, “We’re all doomed” Frazer, “May I be excused”Godfrey and “Do you think that’s wise ?” Sgt. Wilson. The memorable characters come to life again in this hilarious stage version of the classic television comedy. Taking charge of a captured German U-boat crew…. doing their best to behave like soldiers when Capt. Mainwaring introduces women into the platoon…. testing their Morris dancing skills for a Lady Godiva fund-raising event … and excelling themselves in a rousing Floral Dance finale. Unsurprisingly, under those stressful conditions, the boys sometimes get over-excited and lose the plot ! Luckily, stirring war-time music from a squad of conscripts from Harrogate Band is there to provide relief from the un-military antics on stage.
