Matinee idol, charmer and egotist, Garry Essendine makes a concerted effort to deny his advancing years and receding hairline by indulging in rampant womanising. In one of Noel Coward's funniest and finest comedies, the character of Essendine is, by the writer's own admission, 'a vehicle for his own talent'.
